
THE ORIGIN STORY
I’ve always loved card games, fast, tactical, a bit cheeky.
But as a massive football fan, I always thought:
“Why isn’t there a card game that actually feels like football?”
That idea stuck.
So I created a game that mixed team set collection, action-packed sabotage, and a real-world skill challenge. Inspired by the chaotic energy of beer pong (you know, those moments where everyone’s shouting over a cup shot), I added a precision-based mechanic that brought real energy to the table.
Game night got LOUD, fast.
At first, it used a flicking mechanic — but that quickly got messy with cards flying across the table. So I evolved it into a cleaner, throwing format
Originally, the game was called Footy Clash
But once I introduced the Red Card rule (where you can wipe an opponent’s points off the board), it all clicked.
And so Red Card Rumble was born.

Success
After dozens of test sessions, tweak after tweak, everything finally fell into place.
We tried out new card mechanics, adjusted how players battled for points, and fine-tuned the energy of the game through real matches with friends.
The gameplay got sharper. The rules got tighter.
And then it happened — the name Red Card Rumble hit the table… and it stuck.
Just like that, the theme, the skill mechanic, and the gameplay loop all snapped into alignment.
We’d built a game that people didn’t just understand — they wanted to play again right away.
That’s when we knew we had something special.
